NHTSA's VIN data lists no trims for the 2014 Murano, so these are the versions EPA tested, by its names. Recalls and complaints cover the whole model year: whether a recall applies to a car depends on its VIN, on NHTSA's recall lookup.
Owners have filed 145 complaints with NHTSA about the 2014 Murano. These are unverified owner reports, counted by the part of the car they name; one complaint can name several parts. Counts aren't adjusted for how many were sold, so they don't show how reliable a car is.

Complaints by model year
Newer years have had less time to collect complaints, and counts aren't adjusted for sales, so a shorter bar doesn't mean a more reliable year.
NHTSA lists 1 recall campaign for the 2014 Murano over its history. Campaigns are matched by model and year, so each one may apply to a given car, and its repair may already be done: check a VIN on NHTSA's recall lookup for the open recalls on that exact car.
Nissan North America (Nissan) is recalling certain 2013-2014 Murano and Murano Cross Cabriolet vehicles. The power steering hose clamp may not adequately secure the hose, allowing the hose to detach and leak power steering fluid.
Risk: If the power steering fluid leaks onto a heat source such as hot engine or exhaust components, there could be an increased risk of a fire.
Remedy: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will install a power steering high pressure hose kit, free of charge. The recall began May 10, 2017. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.
Carmakers sent NHTSA 113 service bulletins and notices that cover the 2014 Murano, the latest on Apr 13, 2026. They tell dealers how to fix known issues.
The parts they mention most: equipment (29), electrical system (23), power train (13), service brakes (11), structure (11).
NHTSA hasn't opened a defect investigation that covers this model year.
